The Kindness Café: £6,000 Raised for The Air Ambulance Service

There are some days that remind us just how powerful kindness and community can be, and our recent Kindness Café event at Basilia Café in Langley Mill was one of those truly special moments.

What began as a simple idea between friends, a cosy coffee morning to raise funds for The Air Ambulance Service  turned into a heartwarming celebration of community spirit, generosity, and love.

A Community Coming Together

Earlier this year, the Basilia family experienced a heartbreaking loss with the passing of Roy, the much-loved co-owner of the café. The Air Ambulance Service were the first to arrive at the scene and have continued to support Cathy and her family ever since.

When Cathy and Kerry (co-founder of Letterbox Love) first talked about hosting a Kindness Café, we simply wanted to give something back to this incredible charity that had done so much. We hoped a few people might pop by for coffee, cake, and a good cause, but what followed far exceeded every expectation.

The Power of Kindness

From the moment the doors opened, the kindness, generosity, and sense of togetherness were overwhelming. Local businesses donated prizes for the raffle, customers contributed to donation jars, and others simply showed up with a smile and open hearts.

There was laughter, a few tears, and plenty of coffee and cake, all shared in the spirit of doing good. What started as a small idea became a celebration of community at its best.

The Final Total: £6,000 Raised!

Thanks to everyone’s generosity and support, we are absolutely thrilled to share that together we raised an incredible £6,000 for The Air Ambulance Service.

Every single pound will help this vital charity continue to save lives and support families in moments of crisis. The service relies entirely on donations, and knowing that our community could make such an impact means the world to us.
